Stephanie Pow
Driven by an insatiable curiosity for global cultures, a unique gift for connecting people, and a deep passion for the cannabis industry, Stephanie created Emerald Lane; a global, people-first recruitment and HR firm focused on building world-class cannabis teams.
As the firm’s Founder and Head of Global Recruitment, Stephanie believes people are what make the cannabis industry truly great. After more than 8 years working in the sector, she knows that building a sustainable business isn’t only about finding great team members; it’s about matching the right people, at the right time, and supporting their growth through the day-to-day.
Spearheading a new approach to managing the people-part of a cannabis business, Stephanie is redefining the way companies recruit, hire and retain top talent.
Get to know Stephanie...
As a ‘global citizen’, Stephanie has lived in over a dozen countries, learning about the unique perspectives on work and health across various regions and cultures.
Throughout her early career she held various positions in policy development and project management with large multinational finance companies, government health agencies, cancer research organizations, high-growth startups and international non-profits.
In 2016 she moved to the Emerald Triangle where for two years she lived and worked on farms, embedded deep in cannabis culture, learning everything she could about the people, the cultivation processes, and the challenges of navigating policy changes and building great teams. In 2018 she seized an opportunity to move back to her roots in Toronto just prior to legalization.
An early mover in the Canadian cannabis industry, Stephanie has experienced the birth of a national cannabis industry first-hand, helping organizations build and expand their teams, placing more than 120 full-time positions across the supply chain. She spearheaded recruitment efforts for both large public companies and independent private organizations, from early-stage startups, to national scale-ups and expansions.
As a pioneering cannabis recruitment and HR firm, Stephanie is committed to building Emerald Lane into a truly global organization that can adapt and respond to the intricacies and nuances in each regional market.
